Diabetes Basic Panel is the most basic panel that is done to screen, monitor and diagnose increased blood sugar in the blood. Fasting blood sugar gives the blood sugar levels in the patient following overnight fasting, blood sugar levels after 2 hr of food consumption and average blood sugar over 3 month period. This panel is suitable for patients anyone who is above 30yrs of age [with or without symptoms]. In some instances, this panel is recommended for patients below 30yrs of age [based on symptoms or doctor recommendations].
